Internship Overview The program focuses on advanced training and research in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) and Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells (SOECs). These are key technologies for efficient hydrogen production and clean energy conversion. Interns will gain multidisciplinary exposure to materials synthesis, structural characterization, and cell fabrication techniques. Internship Training Modules Module 1: Fundamentals of Solid Oxide Cell Technology - Principles of SOFC/SOEC systems and materials thermodynamics. - Laboratory safety and instrument operation training. Module 2: Synthesis and Characterization - Sol-gel and citrate-EDTA complexing synthesis methods. - Structural analysis via X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FE-SEM. Module 3: Fabrication and Performance Testing - Screen-printing electrode layers and optimizing sintering conditions. - Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization measurements. Module 4: Data Analysis and Reporting - Analysis of microstructural–electrochemical correlations. - Preparation of technical reports and scientific presentations. Eligibility Requirements - Academic Level: Undergraduate seniors, Master’s, or Ph.D. students. - Majors: Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Energy-related disciplines in sciences and engineering. - Target Regions: Open to students from India, Poland, France, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. What Interns Will Gain - Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in high-performance green energy materials design. - Professional Growth: Capacity building in cross-disciplinary research and potential publication in peer-reviewed journals. - Cultural Immersion: Professional and academic experience within Taiwan's energy research ecosystem. Academic Opportunities After Internship Interns who are interested in furthering their academic journey may apply to pursue a Master’s or PhD program or Postdoctoral at YZU after successfully completing the internship period.
