🌏 TEEP Research Program Overview This interdisciplinary program brings together **environmental science, analytical chemistry, and public health** in a research-intensive setting. You'll work on cutting-edge topics including: - **Wastewater-Based Epidemiology (WBE)** — tracking public health trends through environmental data - **Pharmaceutical residues & emerging contaminants** — monitoring chemicals in the environment - **Responsible chemistry education** — connecting science to sustainability and policy Hands-on techniques you may work with include **GC-MS, LC-MS, MALDI/SALDI, Raman spectroscopy, and UV–Vis** — from sample preparation through to data interpretation. ## 📅 Duration **Minimum 2 months**, typically **June 15 – August 15** *(Exact dates may vary depending on your home institution's arrangements.)* ## 👤 Who Should Apply? We welcome undergraduate and graduate students from: - Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering - Environmental Science or related fields **You're a great fit if you:** - Have basic knowledge of analytical chemistry - Have some experience with instrumental or spectroscopic analysis *(preferred but not required)* - Are excited about research at the intersection of chemistry, environment, and public health ## 💰 Funding & Financial Support | Monthly Stipend | NT$15,000–20,000 / month *(performance-based)* | | Living Expenses | **Not covered** by stipend — budgeted separately by participant | | Airfare | ❌ **Not included** — please confirm with your home university program | 💡 **Accommodation tip:** On-campus dormitories are available at a subsidized student rate (~NT$10,000 for two months) and are highly recommended. Off-campus housing typically costs 2–3× more. Daily meals on campus run approximately NT$300/day. ## 🔬 Program Activities - Laboratory research, chemical analysis & data interpretation - Weekly group meetings and progress check-ins - Interdisciplinary seminars and guest talks - Final poster or oral presentation and program evaluation ## 🎯 What You'll Gain By the end of the program, you will: 1. Have **hands-on experience** in environmental and analytical chemistry 2. Build strong **data analysis and scientific communication** skills 3. Understand how chemistry contributes to **real-world environmental and public health solutions** 4. Be part of an **international research collaboration** network
