[Project Overview] This program, hosted by the Department of Applied Chemistry at Providence University, focuses on the frontier of organometallic chemistry and sustainable catalysis. Our research aims to develop and apply novel SPO-based ligands for Pd-NAPA pre-catalysts in cross-coupling reactions. These reactions are essential tools in modern organic synthesis for constructing C-C and C-heteroatom bonds, with significant applications in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and advanced organic field-effect transistor (OFET) materials. (Ref. ChemCatChem 2022, 14, e202200736.) [What We Offer] Financial Support: A monthly stipend of NT$ 20,000 will be provided for up to 6 months to cover living expenses in Taiwan. On-Campus Accommodation: We assist participants in applying for university dormitories (e.g., Bosco Hall or Good Shepherd Hall), which offer 24-hour security and high-speed internet. Please note that on-campus housing is subject to bed availability at the time of application. Academic Environment: Participants will gain hands-on experience in high-quality R&D, utilizing advanced synthetic techniques and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including mechanochemical synthesis (ball milling). Career Pathway: This program serves as a bridge for talented international scholars to transition into a Ph.D. program. [Candidate Requirements] We are looking for motivated young chemists (Master’s degree holders or Ph.D. students) with a strong background in organic synthesis and multi-step R&D experience. Familiarity with catalytic systems, ligand design, or computational chemistry (Gaussian) is preferred. [Join Us] Join our team in Taichung to contribute to innovative green catalysis research while experiencing the vibrant academic and cultural environment of Taiwan!
