Advancing Blue Carbon Sequestration and Intertidal Biodiversity under Climate Change through Interdisciplinary Research and Industry–Academia Collaboration This program focuses on interdisciplinary research integrating marine ecology, environmental biotechnology, and blue carbon science under climate change. It aims to recruit international students with strong academic backgrounds and research potential to participate in hands-on field and laboratory research in Taiwan. The program duration is 2-5 months (May to November 2026), and participants will be engaged in intertidal ecosystem studies, including blue carbon sequestration, sediment improvement, and microbial carbon fixation. Research activities include field sampling, water quality and sediment analysis, molecular techniques, and microbial isolation. Students will also participate in developing micro-scale aquatic carbon cycle simulation systems. In addition to research training, the program offers coursework in climate change and blue carbon science, data analysis training, and participation in marine citizen science and environmental education outreach activities. Stipend and Support Monthly stipend: NTD 15,000 per student Accommodation: student dormitory available (fee required) Research facilities, supervision, and training provided Eligibility Requirements Undergraduate or graduate students in relevant fields such as: marine science, environmental science, microbiology, biotechnology, or related disciplines Strong motivation for interdisciplinary research Basic English communication skills required Additional Information Participants are responsible for accommodation, insurance, and personal expenses Health insurance is mandatory during the stay in Taiwan Students are encouraged to consider future enrollment in the university’s International Master’s Program This program also collaborates with international academic and industry partners, providing participants with opportunities for global research exchange and future academic development.
