The CYC Group at National Taiwan Ocean University invites outstanding international students to join a TEEP research internship in optoelectronic semiconductors and energy conversion. Our laboratory focuses on the growth, design, and mechanistic study of advanced semiconductor materials, integrating optoelectronic properties, carrier dynamics, and interfacial chemical reactions to develop high-efficiency and stable optoelectronic and photoelectrochemical energy conversion technologies. Representative research topics include metal chalcogenide semiconductors for photovoltaics and photoelectrochemical applications, such as CZTSSe, Sb2(S,Se)3, SnS, Cu2O, Bi2O2Se, transition-metal dichalcogenides, g-C3N4, and Ga2O3. Depending on the project and the student’s background, interns may participate in materials synthesis, thin-film growth, structural and optical characterization, electrochemical measurements, data analysis, literature review, and scientific presentation. Applicants with backgrounds in materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, optoelectronics, or related fields are welcome. Prior experience in characterization, electrochemistry, or Python/MATLAB data analysis is a plus, but highly motivated students with good English communication skills are also encouraged to apply. The internship duration is typically 2 to 6 months, subject to project scheduling, visa processing, and MOE/TEEP regulations. Eligible TEEP interns will receive financial support according to the approved project budget and current TEEP rules. Students should arrange their own airfare, insurance, and personal living expenses unless otherwise specified. Interested applicants should submit a CV, academic transcript, a brief statement of research interest, and their preferred internship period.
