The objective of this project is to provide young college graduates with the basic skills and knowledge for material (quantum dots) fabrication and characterization. The study focuses on the fabrication process with currently available facilities in the lab and characterization is based on the university’s center of high-end equipment and lab basic equipment. Via the training (short courses, laboratory practice, or group regular meetings), the person would be familiar with the setup, culture, and people in the laboratory. We expect the attendees can finish 2-3 simple experiments either independently or under the assistance of current graduate students in 6 months. The results can be part of ongoing research projects (for future publication) or the attendees’ future thesis.
