Rising demand for electronic devices (EVs) is stimulated by the development and advancement of technology. Batteries constitute a substantial component of various electronic products, containing valuable metals. Due to their continuous generation throughout the life cycle of electronic products and the impetus to innovate technologies and electric vehicles, batteries are recognized as critical contributors to global Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) production. Given the environmental consequences and resource scarcity, there is an urgency need for efficient recycling and repurposing of old lithium-ion batteries. The environmentally friendly method to extract the metals from spent-lithium batteries will be investigated in this project. To evaluate the extraction efficiency, these project will carry out at normal pressure and supercritical fluids conditions.
