About Us Chang Gung University is a top-tier research institution dedicated to medical-related research and applications. Our strength lies in integrating various departments within the medical school, allowing laboratory research projects to be validated and applied clinically. This enhances the feasibility of regenerative medicine research.
Objectives We are looking for motivated and innovative students to join our team in developing tissue regeneration techniques using tissue engineering approaches. This position offers an opportunity to participate in research combining tissue engineering and stem cells for the regeneration of soft tissues (cartilage, lymphatic vessels) or hard tissues (bone). The goal is to develop efficient regenerative solutions for tissue defects or aging tissues, providing an alternative clinical option for tissue replacement.
Training Program and Project Structure This short-term training program is designed to provide hands-on experience in tissue regeneration using tissue engineering approaches. Courses will be offered in both English and Chinese to ensure accessibility for international students. We provide fundamental courses on tissue engineering and biomedical material fabrication, along with practical training in cell culture and in vitro tissue regeneration experiments. Additionally, participants might have the opportunity to collaborate with physicians at Chang Gung Hospital and observe surgical experiments involving animal defect models.
The training program includes:
1. Basic concepts of tissue engineering
2. Extraction and culture of adipose-derived stem cells
3. Stem cell differentiation into specific cell types
4. Biomedical material fabrication and development
5. In vitro tissue regeneration experiments
Recruitment We welcome applications from international students, particularly from Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. We plan to recruit two students for a three-month internship.
