Our research laboratory is currently engaged in the development of green technology and sustainable energy, including (1) the development and modification of forward osmosis membranes using emerging materials (MOF, rGO, etc.) to mitigate fouling and enhance separation efficiency along with water/valuable resource recovery, and (2) integrated technologies for extracting high-value platform compounds (such as furfural, Hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) and Levulinic acid) from biomass waste and torrefaction of the residues to produce renewable energy. This aligns with the two key focuses of this project: "Green Technology" and "Circular Economy."
The program of TEEP@AsiaPlus can support interns (4-6 months) to research and explore their interest for pursuing further academic degree in Taiwan. I prefer to recruit students who can study here for 6 months with the background of environmental and chemical engineering, chemistry, and electrical chemistry that can perform experiments and do analyses in the lab. Please read related papers to have an idea about the research topics. I can also send you some of our publications regarding the research top that you are interested in. Then, It would be nice to have your CV, recommendation letter (if any), and research plan to discuss about the research topic you are interested in.
I can offer the suitable candidate a scholarship of 12,000 NTD per month based on your performance starting from our agreed date in 2025. You have to deal with the flight ticket, insurance, and all the living expenses in Taiwan. Special remarks: please bring enough savings to support the beginning the two months of your intern here because the accounting procedures to issue your stipend can only be started after your report for duty, establishment of student ID, opening an account in the bank, etc., which takes time. Besides, for dorm application on campus, it requires two months deposit in cash. The Office of International Affairs in NKUST can help you with some application details such as dorm on campus and insurance.
