Integrating the research capabilities of the Green Nano Research Center at National Pingtung University (NPTU) and the Institut Jean Lamour (IJL) at the University of Lorraine, France, this project builds upon the existing collaboration between Prof. Hua-Shu Hsu and Prof. Stephane Mangin, Director of the IJL Spin Team, one of the key spintronics research centers in the European Union. The initiative aims to launch a joint research program on novel silicon photonic light sources, with a primary goal of developing spin light-emitting diodes (Spin-LEDs). National Pingtung University, in collaboration with industry mentors, plans to offer specialized research courses on silicon photonics and spintronic optoelectronic semiconductor technologies. Students may have opportunities to engage in university laboratories, the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, and Advanced Optoelectronic Technology, Inc., gaining insights into Taiwan’s research and industrial environment. Regular meetings with industry mentors are expected to be arranged for progress discussions and guidance.
