Status on TEEP Program in the COVID-19 period (Update: April 14 2022)
(4/14 update)
We are pleased to announce that the international students for TEEP programs are able to enter Taiwan from 1st May 2022, according to the official document and announcement of the Ministry of Education, Taiwan.
Please refer to our website and check the details of the programs if you consider applying, feel free to contact the principal investigator or staff of the program, and submit the application form and other documents required by the program. Once your eligibility has been confirmed and qualified to enroll in a TEEP program, you can start the application process for an entry permit of VISA as a TEEP student at the local embassy of the Taiwanese government, and prepare to come to Taiwan. Please note that all the participants must cooperate with all epidemic prevention measures, provide related documents for entry, and abide by related regulations. Hope everything goes well and sees you soon in Taiwan.
(3/25 update) The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which is the competent authority on pandemic prevention affairs, hasn't approved the entry permit of TEEP programs until now (March 25). Currently, CDC is reviewing the TEEP entry application proposed by the Ministry of Education, please keep attention to the website, and we will announce the latest information or news if any updating.
(1/10 update) According to the announcement by the Ministry of Education (MOE) on 3 January 2022, Taiwan will reopen its borders in March to around 5,000 international students who do not hold the MOE's Huayu Enrichment Scholarship. This new regulation will apply to non-scholarship students wishing to study Mandarin in Taiwan for at least six months, and universities can start making applications on behalf of students from February 14. However, this excludes TEEP students, exchange program students, or other short-term programs students.
(2021/11/26)
TEEP programs are still continuing and executing this year. However, the border of many countries (including Taiwan) are closed or controlled due to the pandemic of COVID-19, which has influenced students to cancel their plan of participating in TEEP Program, and the programs may also change their admission policy or timelines as well. Currently, most of the non-degree international students (such as exchange programs, internships, etc) are still not allowed to come to Taiwan yet. We are not sure when the border will be opened for TEEP students, this is controlled by the government based on the pandemic prevention policy.
Due to this uncertainty, we suggest that please keep in contact with the program you are interested in, to receive the announcement or latest news from the university or government. Once the border policy is relaxed, you can apply for TEEP Program (submit the application form and other documents required by the program) immediately, then obtain the acceptance letter, start the application process for entry VISA as a TEEP student and come to Taiwan. Hope everything goes well and sees you soon in Taiwan. Thank you.
